FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Thailand!

The climate in Thailand is tropical, therefore it is unpredictable throughout the year.

That being said, statistically the Cool Season (November to April ) is generally considered the best time with lowest chance for rainfall, with April being the hottest month of the year.

The Guld Islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao) are slightly different, with the raining season being from October - December (up to mid-January).

Another exception to that rule is Hua Hin, with only 2 rainy months per yea r- September and October.

As for the north, it is blooming and beautiful during the wet season.

If you are from a western country you will most likely fall under the Visa Exemption, meaning you will not need to get a visa.

Most travellers are granted a 60-days Visa Exemption which can be extended for another 30 days without having to exit the country.

However, you will be requierd to fill out Tdac (free of charge).

For more information please visit our Thailand Visa page.

Yes, absolutely. Upon entering the country you must have your hotels booked, otherwise you might be denied entry.

The immigration don't typically check that, but when they do if you've only booked your first hotel or didn't book a return flight, they might use that as a reason to not let you into the country.

The short answer is yes, Thailand is considered very safe for tourists.

While in the past it wasn't the case, nowadays tourists can travel in Thailand without worrying about their safety.

The only exception is the provinces south of Krabi (except for Koh Lipe) which are much less popular for tourists anyway.

The more the merrier. Please check out our Thailand Itinerary page for more information.

Absolutely! Thailand is a destination that truly caters to everyone.

Whether you're a backpacker, a couple celebrating a honeymoon, a family with young children, or a senior traveler, you'll find an experience tailored for you.

This inclusivity is reflected in the diverse accommodations available, ranging from romantic "adults-only" resorts and fun "family-friendly" hotels (complete with kids' rooms and slides) to five-star luxury retreats and budget-friendly guesthouses.

Cash is King in Thailand. Outside of major shopping malls, most street vendors, small restaurants, and markets do not accept credit cards or mobile payment systems like Apple Pay.

While locals often use QR code bank transfers or e-wallet apps (like True Money), these are generally unavailable to tourists.

Therefore, you should plan to rely primarily on the local currency, the Thai Baht (THB). Currency exchange booths are widely available throughout tourist areas.
